About
Held annually, alternating between Graz (Austria) and Hamburg (Germany), the forum brings together experts, innovators, and decision-makers to advance sustainable technologies and solutions for the shipping sector.
Originally launched in 2019 by the Large Engines Competence Center (LEC) as the "LEC Sustainable Shipping Technologies Forum" within the framework of the EU flagship project HyMethShip, the event quickly gained significant international recognition. Due to its success, the forum has since been jointly organized with the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) and, since 2025, continues under its new name — the Leading Sustainable Shipping Technologies Forum (LSSTF).
In just a few years, the LSSTF has evolved into a dynamic international network of more than 600 institutions and individuals from over 40 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America. This growing global collaboration highlights both the urgency and importance of zero-emission shipping technologies and the shared commitment to strengthening international cooperation in addressing the world’s most pressing climate challenges.
