EU Project ENGIMMONIA – Sustainable Technologies for Future Long Distance Shipping Towards Complete Decarbonisation
EU Project ENGIMMONIA, joined from 22 partners from 8 countries, tackles IMO challenges targeting decarbonization, focusing on two main pillars: i) promote the global introduction of alternative carbon-free fuels, as ammonia, also providing a solution to N2O emission that can be properly treated by an EATS. ii) transfer to maritime sector clean energy technologies for on-board electricity and HVAC, robustly demonstrated for terrestrial application (i.e. Waste heat recovery, and solar PV), but still facing nontechnical/regulatory challenges.
