Dr. Hyunchun Park is a Senior Researcher at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, a global leader in shipbuilding and marine engine manufacturing. Holding a doctoral degree from ETH Zurich, he brings over 15 years of expertise in marine engine innovation, with a recent focus on future-fuel engines, including MeOH, NH3, and H2. He is an active member of CIMAC WG17 Gas Engines and a leading contributor to e-fuel initiatives in South Korea.
Techno-Economic Assessment of H2-Propulsion: Ro-Pax and LH2 Carrier Case Studies toward 2035

This research assesses the techno-economic feasibility of H2-propulsion for Ro-Pax and LH2 carriers under the upcoming IMO Net-Zero Framework. Our approach couples detailed ship system simulations with H2 supply chain analysis and regulatory carbon pricing, providing a strategic outlook on the competitiveness of hydrogen fuels by 2035.
